Taking Measurements

After you've placed your order, I will send you an email finalizing the details of your order, and asking for your measurements and any fitting notes. In order for me to make pants that fit your body, its important that these measurements be accurate! Many people are unfamiliar with this process, so let me walk you through the numbers I need and how to take them. You will need a fabric/flexible tape measure.

You should take your measurements in underwear or a tight fitting base layer like leggings, something that won't get in the way of the tape measure. To get an accurate measurement, you want to hold the tape snug, but not digging into your skin. If you've never done this before, I highly recommend going to this link and reading through By Hand London's instructions, which are clear and thorough.

For pants, I need the following measurements:

Natural waist- this is midway between ribs and hip bones, usually where your waist is smallest, but not always. Measure the entire circumference.
Widest hips/seat- around the fullest part of your hips & bum.
Widest thigh- around the largest part of your thigh.
Inseam- from your crotch to ankle bone. This one can be tricky to take yourself because the tape moves when you bend down. Get someone else to measure you, or do your best! Or measure a pair of pants that you like the length of.

For tops, I need to know:

Widest bust- all the way around the widest part of your chest. If you normally wear a bra, measure with it on.
Natural Waist
Widest Hips- (if it is a longer item that goes past your hips.)

Hope this helps! Feel free to shoot me an email or message me on Instagram if you have any questions!
